Silvia Furmanovich launched her eponymous fine jewellery brand over 20 years ago. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Silvia comes from a long line of Italian goldsmiths: her great-grandfather made ornaments for the Vatican, and as a child, Silvia spent hours observing her goldsmith father in his atelier. The award-winning brand celebrates rich global cultures, drawing on varied cultural and historical references and traditions – from Japan and India to Italy and the Amazonian rainforests. Silvia’s use of intricate wood marquetry captures Brazil’s rich flora and fauna. In 1998 Silvia launched her own collection and opened her first boutique in São Paulo in 2009. Today, she has two boutiques, along with her own atelier, in São Paulo, and is joined in the business by her three sons.
StoryLed by an innate curiosity for and deep exploration of handicrafts and techniques from around the world, Brazilian designer Silvia Furmanovich's iconic creations are now transcending the realm of jewellery and broaching new horizons. The brand is celebrated for artfully minded, artisan-crafted jewellery, most recently expanded to wood marquetry handbags and jewellery boxes. The natural evolution of these objects is now coming to fruition as a new line of objects for the home: stools, mirrors, tables, trays, vases and bowls. Constantly driven by the desire to create and expand notions within the field of design, Silvia debuts her new home collection, SF Home, bringing to life the designer's passion for nature and its perfect imperfections.
