Handcrafted paper sculpture of the Emerald Cicada (Zammara smaragdina). Cicadas are mostly known for their loud buzz and their cyclical appearance. Most cicadas emerge every year, while some have very long life cycles and only emerge every 13 to 17 years. Tina aims to make her sculptures as lifelike and detailed as possible, therefore the size of the sculpture is close to life-size.
