17 Lettere - Haiku

The contemporary mosaic work inspired by a Japanese haiku was created from Biancone marble, using cement adhesives on an aluminium honeycomb support and cement smoothing around the perimeter.

The work was created as part of a training project called “L’incontro con l’artista Toyoharu Kii”, where the third-year students of the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli created a mosaic work using a design presented by the Japanese artist Toyoharu Kii. This piece is an example of an important moment of cultural and artistic exchange between Italy and Japan.
