Utukutu Toy making
©Evka Neuman

It all started with a homemade rocker board. Gabriela was on maternity leave, and Viktor had a full time job, yet their idea was too strong to ignore. The new toy enthused not only their child but also their friends’ children. Together with the carpenter David, the married couple decided to make more and gradually, without big investments or marketing strategies, they established a workshop. Today, the family atelier ships its products to several countries.

Utukutu’s mission is to develop safe, healthy toys and tools for children (plus adults, too). The high safety standard is essential for the founders – parents themselves. Every new product results from a collaboration with experts such as physiotherapists, podologists or psychologists. The proper function is not the only criterion, though; another vital one is the design. Utukutu toys are intended to be seen in the household, not hidden in the children’s room.
