Tzuri Gueta is an Israeli textile designer based in Paris. Assisted by a team of young designers specialised in jewellery, design and embroidery, his work, inspired by the organic realm, lies at the crossroads of craftsmanship, art and design, and ranges from jewellery, fashion accessories, design objects and stage performances to art exhibitions, haute couture collaborations and even movie costumes. After settling in Paris in 1996, Tzuri worked in an agency run by Li Edelkoort – one of the world's most famous trend forecasters – and went on to concentrate on textile design.
Combining traditional gestures with innovative techniques, he creates surprising materials, that seem both delicate and sculptural. Today, his signature material is silicone and after trying to mix it with several openwork textiles, Tzuri Gueta invented a technique patented in 2005 of blowing silicone into lace (it is patented under the name Dentelle Siliconée©). This innovation allows him to create curious objects as well as jewellery, clothing or decorations.
