In 2007 Jordi Torrent Batchellí started his apprenticeship as a paper maker with the renowned master artisan Toni Sardá. In 2013, Jordi felt confident enough to take over the paper mill. Respectful of tradition but eager to create something new, he launched Sastres Paperers. Making his first sheet of paper from cotton and linen was a fascinating experience that marked the beginning of a lifelong passion.

Paper mills are a tradition in this region of Cataluña yet most of them have disappeared. Sastres Paperers is a successful modern project with an international clientele that has enabled Jordi to maintain both the old mill and its original activity. He believes in constant research for new technologies and materials but simultaneously he always respects the traditions that imply excellent quality. Every sheet of paper is unique, as is the relationship with clients that learn to appreciate this delicate and refined craft.
