A small village in the heart of the Puglia region, in one of the most authentic corners of southern Italy, is a well known address for lovers and connoisseurs of traditional Italian tailoring. The Sartoria G. Inglese, founded in 1955 by Giovanni and now run by his son Angelo, is a traditional family workshop yet with an international clientele, including the British royal family. Every shirt created by G. Inglese has silk stitches and passes through 25 stages by hand, making it a unique piece of craftsmanship, simplicity and beauty. The shirt is rigorously cut with scissors and assembled in some cases by old models of Singer machines.

The traditional sartorial activity is still the absolute core of the business but it is also gradually evolving into something more: the historical building hosting the atelier in the centre of Ginosa is not just a hub for artisanal creativity but also a destination of “sartorial tourism”, offering an immersive experience of the local region.
