Precious pearls

  • • Rikke was born on the Faroe Islands
  • • She is inspired by H.C Andersen's fairy tales
  • • Her jewellery has been exhibited around the world

Rikke Lunnemann creates poetic jewellery that tells stories from everyday life, like a coffee stain, a bird in a tree or a band-aid gilded in 24-carat gold. From her workshop in Svendborg in the south of the island of Funen, Rikke makes storytelling pieces in gold, silver, gemstones and pearls. Her jewellery is never loud but delicate and subtle, like the ring with layers of gold 'mattresses' with a small diamond hidden between as a reference to H. C. Andersen's fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. Gold never ceases to amaze Rikke because it is Mother Earth’s natural mineral and holds infinite possibilities for transformation and interpretation. Her precious jewellery stories transfer joy and inspiration to those who wear them.

Clean Up

The cotton bud brooch is a reminder that we must clean up the mess we have made in our oceans and rethink how and what we use and throw away. Leaders worldwide need to listen when scientists tell us how bad things are.
