Magee 1866 is a family business with over 150 years’ experience in designing, weaving and tailoring luxurious fabrics and clothing. Magee was founded by John Magee who established a business buying and selling handwoven Donegal tweed. This fabric was woven across Donegal by part-time fishermen and farmers in north-west Ireland. In 1900, Robert Temple, John Magee’s cousin and apprentice, bought the business and today the third and fourth generations of the Temple family are still at the helm: Lynn, Charlotte, Paddy and Rosy.
Their weaving mill on the banks of the River Eske is the beating heart of Magee. Here renewable and biodegradable natural fibres like wool, cashmere, flax and alpaca are central to their process. Beautiful fabrics form the basis of the brand’s lifestyle collection across men, women and home interiors. Magee supports the tradition of weaving and manufacturing textiles in Ireland, bringing a contemporary edge to an age-old craft.
