Litografia R. Bulla is the oldest surviving lithography studio in the world, founded in Paris in 1818 by Francois Bulla and eventually settling in Rome in 1840. It is managed today by sisters Flaminia and Beatrice Bulla, the seventh generation of the Bulla family, who run the business together with their father Romolo Bulla and their aunt Rosalba Bulla. In its early days, Bulla serviced all kinds of cultural and commercial activities, however, in the 40s, Flamina and Beatrice’s grandfather decided to fully dedicate his activity to art, thus becoming a reference for both the local and the international artistic community.

The studio’s spaces, machinery and expertise accompany artists on their creative path, experimenting and breaking boundaries in order to allow them to finalise their creative vision. Bulla has worked with artists such as Kounellis, Cucchi, Accardi, Tirelli and Ontani, today Beatrice and Flaminia source up and coming talents, acting as scouters and as a spring board for the next generation or artists.
