Lalique, founded in 1988 in Paris by René Lalique, is one of the mythical names which made the French crystal industry famous worldwide, and a recognised symbol of French luxury. The early history of the company is linked to the path of its founder René Lalique, a genius artist who first started his career as a master jeweller, revolutionising jewellery styles in the Art Nouveau era, and then became the Art Deco master glassmaker par excellence. Thanks to his history-making partnership with François Coty, he also revolutionised the perfume industry, creating superb designs for perfume bottles.
Today, the Lalique factory is still based in Wingen-sur-Moder in Alsace, at the heart of the French region with the strongest glassmaking tradition, where René Lalique moved all production workshops in 1922. The contemporary vision of the brand is to prolong the creative genius of its founder thanks to an exceptional team of skilled craftspeople, seven of which carry the title of Best Craftsmen in France, and to establish Lalique as a timeless lifestyle brand through the development of its six pillars: decorative objects, perfumes, jewellery, interior architecture, art and hospitality.
