Micro mosaic jewellery

  • • Le Sibille combine love for history with research and innovation
  • • Every piece is designed like an architectural project
  • • Their mission is to explore and give new emotions

Le Sibille's atelier is in the heart of Rome, where you can experience years of history and a magical blend of different cultures. The three founders Francesca Neri Serberi, Camilla Bronzini and Antonella Perugini create small wearable artworks using the ancient technique of micro mosaic, which was developed in the mid 1700s in the Vatican Mosaic Studio to replace the altarpieces of Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Rome. United by the same passion for goldsmithing and history, the trio learned their technique from a master craftsman at the Vatican Mosaic Studio. The process involves melting glass paste in a crucible, combining various colours to obtain the desired shades; then the paste is pinched with fire tongs to make very thin sticks which are broken into microscopic fragments.
