All in the mould

  • • Eve and Laurent master all the phases of production
  • • They never make two identical objects
  • • They think in terms of manufacturing tools rather than objects

Pushed by the need to reconnect her creativity with manual work, Eve George fell in love with blow molding glass, a craft she says helps her connect with matter. She studied design at the ENSCI-Les ateliers in Paris specialising later in mouth blowing among other glass techniques. Laurent Fichot is a glassblower by trade with fifteen years of experience. Coming from a family of ceramicists, he has always designed and manufactured handmade objects. His mastery of art shooting and cane blowing techniques give him the versatility necessary to create their glass tiles, luminaires and decorative objects. Using their own optical, modular and ephemeral moulds, their work involves a skilful mix of techniques halfway between serial manufacturing and one-off design.
