An act of love

  • • Diego and Nacho create ceramics for restaurants
  • • Sustainability is key to their creations
  • • They set up Sampere together

Brothers Diego and Nacho, both craftsmen and designers, practise the classic ceramic tradition but create new concepts and shapes using digital techniques such as 3D printing. Being able to apply their own creativity with their hands is what they appreciate most about their work. The creative duo specialize in making tableware for haute cuisine and among the memorable moments of their career is being commissioned by a renowned Michelin starred chef to make the crockery for his restaurant. They believe that refined consumers appreciate the value of pieces that are handmade with care and a sustainable philosophy.

Tramuntana plate

The Tramuntana plate is inspired by Cala Estreta, a small beach in Costa Brava where Diego and Nacho Sampere used to spend their childhood summers. They fire all their products twice using a traditional kiln. Depending on where an individual item is placed in the kiln, the degree impacts the colour intensity of the product giving each design a unique beauty.

Mediterranean inspiration

Diego and Nacho Sampere's tableware is inspired by the Mediterranean. Their main collections reflect the typical colours of the local landscape: stone grey, earthly ochre and aqua green. Born to support the experience transmitted by chefs and restaurant, their pieces are designed and produced in La Bisbal d’Empordà with stoneware of the highest quality.

Garbí Bowl

An everyday bowl, for every meal. Great also for dinner with friends as a sharing plate. The shape of the Garbí bowl replicates a real stone from one of the beaches nearby Diego and Nacho Sampere's workshop.

Cala Plate / Plato Cala

Our Cala plate meets between a flat and a deep plate. It was jointly developed with a Michelin-star chef and it took several months of finetuning its shape. With its very distinctive shape, it is one of our favourite pieces.
