Devoto means dedicated in Latin. And in Czech, it means that's what it's about. These meanings aptly characterise the enthusiastic approach of Lukáš Lédl and Petr Porta, the duo that founded the Devoto furniture atelier in 2008. Both graduated from humanities majors while attending a vocational school to get carpentry training. Soon after, their shared passion turned into a full-time business: Devoto produces wooden furniture launched in small series or made to order, ranging from children room furnishings to vast home interiors.
The whole production takes place in charismatic premises of a former screw manufactory in Libčice town. There, the small family-like team designs and makes the furniture, as well as creates 3D interior visualisations. High safety and health standard of their products is a matter of course, and so is the FSC certified wood. Besides the Devoto workshop, the showroom is settled in the compound, presenting the products and hosting events such as courses and lectures.
