Among the most renowned silversmith companies in the world, Christofle has perpetuated its exceptional expertise by constantly updating its collections, which now span every aspect of the art of living. Today the Christofle Maison is a global brand with its main workshop in Yainville (Normandy), but it was founded in 1830 by Charles Christofle as a small factory in the heart of Paris, where the most skilled artisans created gold and silver pieces which soon seduced the most demanding clients, including King Louis-Philippe and Emperor Napoleon III.
Over the years, many artists and designers from Giò Ponti and Andrée Putman to Karl Lagerfeld, Pharrell Williams and Junichi Hakose have collaborated with the creative studio to give life to unique pieces which are now part of the impressive Christofle heritage. The heart of the manufacturer is the Haute Orfèvrerie workshop, where all the items are still completely handmade by a team of craftspeople including two “Meilleur Ouvrier de France”. It is a repository of traditional techniques as well as a laboratory for technical experimentation.
