Founded in 1922, Bonadona Terrissers is a family business that works clay in a traditional way, adapting to new fashions and customer needs. The atelier has a black clay kiln and continues to make decorative pieces for the home and garden, just as it did over a hundred years ago.
"Those of us who come from an artisan family are educated in the craft since childhood. My sister and I remember our summers in the workshop from a very young age. We have been lucky because our parents let us make the pieces we wanted, without imposing a family tradition or anything like that," says Eloi Mora, now in charge of Bonadona Terrissers. "We were taught the basics by our mother and our grandfather, but much of the learning has been self-taught. I wanted to learn how to make large-format pieces, and there was no one left to teach me."
