Orlando Pagliai was already an accomplished Master silversmith when he founded his own workshop in 1947. A gifted perfectionist and an affable tradesman, he poured passion and creativity into his production. Together with his son Paolo, who joined him a few years later, he designed and crafted exquisite silver works for Florentine households and religious institutions. For many years, the atelier also manufactured memorable commissions for Tiffany & Co. in New York.
Ever since Orlando’s passing, more than 50 years ago, Paolo has been the driving force of the workshop, showing great skill to transform the simplest idea into an artefact of outstanding artistic value and refined craftsmanship. An authority in the restoration of antique and modern silverware, Paolo also excels in elaborate burin engravings, which make an object even more unique. He is also a tireless mentor, who has trained generations of young apprentices, some of whom still work with him. His wife Raffaella and his daughter Stefania run the Argentiere Pagliai atelier and shop.
