From marketing to ceramics

After 12 years spent in the corporate world, Anca Vintilă Dragu switched from a career in marketing to become a professional craftswoman working with ceramics. It all started with a painting course she attended in London during a year-long stay in the UK on business. Back home, she began painting on porcelain in a specialised workshop and became increasingly drawn to the process of creating three-dimensional objects from scratch. She studied ceramics at the National University of Arts in Bucharest and later earned a master's degree in decorative arts. She often participates in national and international exhibitions, festivals and design fairs. She is the founder of Una ca Luna studio, where she makes unique porcelain objects for everyday life, including interior design. She is a member of Galateea Contemporary Art, the first and only gallery dedicated to contemporary ceramics in Romania.

#Antropo-ciberneticus with backpack
This piece is part of the #Antropociberneticus collection. It represents an anthropo-zoo-morphic character made from porcelain. His head is completely sucked into a pink mobile device, he has a scooter wheel instead of legs and some backpack straps on his back.

Nordic Lights
The pendant lamp, inspired by northern lights, is a simple conic shape. The successive layers of porcelain reveal the overlaps when it lights up. When unlit the surface of the lamp has a matte, satin look and feel, when lit, the lamp emanates the warmth of the material.

The cup and saucer are decorated with multi-coloured polka dots on a white porcelain background. The handle reflects a rainbow.

Butter Dish
Butter recipient with lid and knife made of beech wood. This is decorated with a dark blue cobalt glaze of 1240°C. Hand painted on glaze with ceramic colorants for 750°C. The décor represents wild delicate flowers.
