The stained glass gallery Vitražo Manufaktūra is located in the very heart of Vilnius Old Town, on the narrow Stiklių Street – the name of the street means glassmakers in Lithuanian. Since 2004, the only professional stained glass gallery in Vilnius, founded by stained glass artist Julija Vaičienė, has been operating here. Visitors can admire both the past and the present of stained glass art in the impressive 16th-century cellars, which once housed gunpowder warehouses. The gallery holds exhibitions in which it presents the works of contemporary Lithuanian stained glass artists. In the museum, also located here, visitors can see the works of the most famous Lithuanian stained glass masters. It exhibits authentic 19th-century fragments of stained glass, while the largest part of the exposition consists of preserved works by the most prominent Lithuanian stained glass artists of the second half of the 20th century – Algimantas Stoškus, Konstantinas Šatūnas, Kazys Morkūnas – alongside other stained glass projects, stained glass fragments and authentic equipment used by them.
