The Craft Museum of Finland is a specialised museum dedicated to craftsmanship. In everyday life as well as in time of celebration handicraft is woven into Finland’s history. Currently enjoying a renaissance, the craft has a significant role in the digital age, which is why the museum offers experiences for all the senses and all age groups. The Craft Museum stores, researches, interprets and disseminates information, knowledge and experiences related to craftsmanship in the past, present and future. Its collections, library and archive serve the entire field.

The museum also includes the National Costume Centre of Finland and the Conservation Centre. The former conducts research, offers training and information and organises exhibitions and events, while the latter provides advice and guidance on storing valuable textiles. The museum is situated in Jyväskylä, a university city 270 kilometres north of Helsinki.
