Its activities include gathering, preserving, and unveiling collections that shed light on the rich tapestry of the Podtatran region and the surroundings of Poprad across the ages. With over 52 000 captivating artifacts encompassing fields such as archaeology, history, art, and even nature's wonders, the museum is a treasure trove of cultural knowledge.

The exhibition entitled 'The Prince of Poprad and his Tomb' is a tale woven over years as a result of ardent research, after the discovery of the prince's 4th-century resting place. The tomb's wooden chambers stand frozen in time, offering a unique glimpse into the past through various decorative and utilitarian objects, ceramic vessels and clothing. Modernity meets history with mesmerising exhibitions, complete with interactive elements that make history leap off the pages.
