Located in the summer city of Blokhus in Northern Jutland, the Museum for Paper Art is breathtaking. With details as tiny as the prick of a needle and scales as large as a fully grown tree, enter an unparalleled universe of clean tableaus and meticulous patterns, oozing with the purity of the material and the depth of its stories. Coloured lights add a dramatic dimension to the works, inviting the viewer to be immersed in the poetic and humble material traced by hands through loving labour.

An original papercut by the Danish fairytale author H. C. Andersen is revealed every six months, while the museum’s founder, the pioneering psaligraphy artist Bit Vejle, enchants with her magnificent and globally celebrated works created with her embroidery scissor during the course of her lifelong career. Psaligraphy is Greek for 'painting with scissors' and originates in China, where it is still considered the national artform. "To cut," H. C. Andersen remarked on the traditional yet timeless craft, “that is the beginning of poetry”.
