The enormous building of the Real Fábrica de Cristales de La Granja, the royal manufacturer built between 1770 and 1800 by the Bourbon Family and still operative today, is one of the largest and best preserved examples of industrial architecture in Spain. A whole part of the neoclassical building hosts the Museo Tecnológico del Vidrio. The Technologic Glass Museum offers the opportunity to learn everything about glass and crystal production.

Visitors can walk through the old furnace nave, see a demonstration in glass blowing, participate in engraving workshops, admire the fascinating machinery of the royal factory and the impressive collection of old tools and moulds (more than 4500 in total) and learn about ancient techniques such as “Manchones”, a traditional way to create large, flat glasses. Visitors can also see the museum's collections of glass pieces, which include hundreds of historical specimens from La Granja or other European manufacturers (starting from the 16th century) and thematic, temporary exhibitions.
