Functional and iconographic sculptural objects

Køppe Contemporary Objects is a gallery and presentation platform for sculptural objects at the intersection of art and craft. It was founded by architect Bettina Køppe in 2016, who has an extensive experience as a curator in the field of cross-over contemporary art objects. Køppe collaborates closely with a group of artists who share an interest in the inherent possibilities of materials and the qualities associated with the traditional crafts and techniques. The artists share a passion for exploring the meaning of objects in relation to function and iconography. Another common feature is a focus on combining tradition with experimentation to create works that hold contemporary relevance. Among the artists represented by the gallery are Pernille Braun, Morten Klitgaard or Per-René Larsen for glass, for ceramics Michael Geertsen, Bodil Manz, Irene Nordil, Christina Schou Christensen, Lone Skov Madsen and for silver Gitte Bjørn.
