Since 2007 the Flemish center for contemporary glass art, called GlazenHuis, not only functions as a museum but also as a hotshop. Every year, GlazenHuis organises two exhibitions in collaboration with internationally renowned artists and designers. From within the museum, the glass artists can be seen live at work, in the artisanal hotshop. The GlazenHuis glasblowers make unique handmade artisanal works of art, that are for sale in museum's glass shop.

The GlazenHuis team regularly organises workshops, to introduce people to the passion of glass blowing. The museum is located in the heart of Lommel and consists of two glass volumes that meet and interact: the glass box and the striking glass cone; the mark of GlazenHuis. The iconic 30 metres high glass cone looks over the city centre. Almost invisible during the day, at night it becomes a colourful light display.
