The Gallery of Kyoto Traditional Arts & Crafts was created in 2003 in the heart of the city. Aiming to highlight the transmission between generations of craftspeople, and to present arts and crafts to enthusiasts, the gallery offers a variety of events. These include the annual student presentation of the Traditional Arts Super College of Kyoto (TASK), as well as exhibitions and demonstrations of highly skilled artisans. Beside a permanent display of great masters’ artworks such as Rosanjin Kitaoji, Manji Inoue and Masayuki Imai, the gallery also hosts a shop where anyone can purchase original pieces made by young craftspeople and masters in the making.
