What do brass, ceramics and coconuts have in common? At Etage Projects, practically everything. Founded in 2014 by Maria Foerlov, the gallery presents experimental artists who crisscross the worlds of art and design. Playful colours, unusual materials and unimaginable compositions make a contemporary aesthetic, simultaneously minimalist and lavish. Part of the Danish prime minister’s residence, Marienborg, is decorated by the cutting edge gallery, which represents exceptional Danish designers like FOS (the name behind the 2006 coconut lamp for French fashion house Céline), goldsmith Jo Riis-Hansen and multidisciplinary artist Karl Monies.
