Bornholm's Art Museum is located in one of Denmark's most beautiful and spectacular landscapes. The white museum building was built in 1993 and is considered one of the best in modern Danish architecture. The works in the collections extend up to the present day and contain handicrafts of both new and older times. The museum has an international collaboration with Sweden, the Baltic States, England, Germany, France and Italy. Every year the doors open for six to eight special exhibitions in the skylight halls, in parallel to the permanent collection of Bornholm-related art.
Special exhibitions include the sought-after biennial events European Glass Context and European Ceramic Context. Makers from all over Europe gather. In addition to the main exhibition at the Art Museum, smaller exhibitions, artist presentations and social gatherings are also organised in various places on Bornholm.
