The Bevilacqua shop in Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, nearby St. Mark’s Basilica, has a large door that is always open, and two windows from which the fabrics hang begging to be seen, touched and admired. A visit to the shop is to experience the history of fabric by touching the original velvets and brocades for which the Serenissima Republic was famous. Customers will find the entire collection of Luigi Bevilacqua fabrics, including damasks, lampas, velvets, soprarizzi, and brocades. The shop also offers an interesting collection of period fabrics, both from the Bevilacqua productions of the 1800s and the first productions of Mariano Fortuny in the early 1900s.
