Founder and curator Fergus Downey opened Alveston Fine Arts in 2016, on the iconic Portobello Road in the Notting Hill district of London, with the aim of "championing artistic talent in defiance of conventional art forms and representing those who bring a uniqueness to their craft." As an antiques dealer specialised in 19th century English ceramics and passionate about promoting both UK and international artists, Fergus curates exceptional ceramic pieces such as Lydia Hardwick's patterned pots or 3D printed porcelain vases by Nico Conti. Metalwork, photography, painting and weaving – to name a few – are also among Alveston Fine Arts’ rich selection.
