Il.lacions has its origins in 2011 when its founder, designer Xavier Franquesa, founded a design gallery on Notariat street in Barcelona with the idea of representing the creative impulse of the city through local talent. Today, after a few moves, the gallery is located in La Rambla, in the heart of Barcelona. It covers a space of 500 square metres spread across 15 rooms. Here it hosts a permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. Il.lacions works with local artisans and small workshops, always providing conceptual aesthetics, resolution and ingenuity. It also develops projects linked to design and creativity, bringing all the collective intelligence to private and spin-off gallery projects. Among the artisans who have passed through the gallery is Roger Coll, a ceramicist from Badalona who reinterprets the ceramic tradition and whose work has received international recognition.
