Royal Delft is the last remaining 17th century Delftware factory to continue to produce hand painted Delft Blue earthenware. It was established in 1653 by David Anthonisz van der Pieth and has been a producer of Delft Blue ever since. The craft of Delftware has been passed down through the generations for over 400 years, and to this day Royal Delft craftsmen use the same methods as their forefathers. The museum continues the vision of Joost Thooft by combining the old way of working with new techniques.
