Museo del Design Italiano is a museum of Italian design on the ground floor of the Triennale di Milano, an icon of Italian cultural and economic life since 1923. The museum’s collection comprises 1,600 objects of Italian design dating from 1927 to the present day, including furniture, accessories and electronics.
Some of this collection’s most iconic and representative pieces of Italian design – chosen by an advisory committee comprising some of the top names in Italian design and architecture – are on permanent display at the museum. The simple, chronological display aims to show off the works to their best advantage, providing insights into the history, creative period and context in which each work was designed.
