The House of the Black Madonna captures the attention of every pedestrian with its cubist facade. Constructed in 1912, the building was designed by renowned architect Josef Gočár and is now home to the Czech Museum of Cubism. On display are high quality ceramic and porcelain pieces by the most famous Czech cubist architects: Pavel Janák, Rudolf Stockar and Vlastislav Hofman. There is also a design shop offering exclusive replicas of cubist pottery. This showroom is one of four belonging to Modernista, which has a 20-year tradition of offering the best of Czech design from the last 100 years.
