Inaugurated in 2018, Mayaro is a place dedicated to innovation in craftsmanship, directed by Nicolas Floquet, Eloïse Gilles and Antoine Bourdon. On the ground floor, the gallery showcases the work of contemporary artisans in a series of exhibitions, which have to date focused on model maker Jérôme Gelès, ceramic artist Ken Mihara, feather artist Janaïna Milheiro and wood sculptor Maxime Perrolle. In the basement is the Lab, a showroom of artisanal work which is only accessible by appointment. It houses a material library with examples of techniques and materials used by more than 30 workshops: vegetable lacquer developed by Nicolas Pinon, sprayed chrome by bespoke paint experts Innova Coats, and stained glass by Atelier St-Didier.
