In the heart of Venice, just a few steps from St Mark’s square, stands Palazzo Querini Stampalia, home of the foundation bearing the same name given to the city in 1868 by Count Giovanni. This 16th century house contains a library, a museum, spaces for temporary exhibitions and areas famously restored by Carlo Scarpa and Mario Botta. On the second floor, the Querini Stampalia House Museum remains one of the most important museums of its kind in Europe. It contains, among other things, furniture, Murano glass chandeliers, globes, clocks, musical instruments, porcelain, sculptures and tapestries.

By recreating the style and authentic atmosphere of a typical Venetian 'palazzo', the museum takes visitors on a journey through the art and social history of the city, helping them discover the domestic habits and daily rituals of a grand old Venetian house, but also the customs that mark the life of Venice today.
