Located in the sumptuous Shuvalov Palace overlooking the Fontanka River, this museum is home to the world's largest collection of Carl Fabergé jewellery masterpieces. The private museum was founded in 2013 by the Link of Times Foundation. At the heart of the collection – which boasts 4,000 pieces, including objects of fantasy, jewellery, silverware, porcelain, interior and religious objects – is the former Forbes family collection, which was purchased in 2004.
Some of its most precious works include 13 astonishing Fabergé Easter Eggs, including nine items created for members of the Russian imperial family between 1885 and 1916. The Coronation Easter Egg, the Order of St. George Egg and other exquisite pieces not only showcase the highest artistic skill in jewellery, they also serve as historic testimonials to the lives of Russia's imperial family.
