Geer Pouls has always been passionate about flowers. It naturally followed that he would also become interested in vases and vessels to display flowers. Since 2008 Geer and Japanese flower artist Takayuki Tomita have run Brutto Gusto, which brings together these two interests. The shop, located on Berlin’s iconic Torstraße, features an extraordinary selection of flowers as well as a portfolio of contemporary applied arts with an emphasis on ceramic and glass vessels. The ceiling-high shelves hold works by Morten Løbner Espersen, Massimo Micheluzzi, Ritsue Mishima, Johannes Nagel and Martin Schlotz. Displayed by colour and material, the selection can accommodate many different tastes and budgets.
