Visitors are able to book a guided tour, including an historical introduction and a walk with the Chief Gardener to discover the botanical significance of the Royal Gardens. A walk around the gardens truly feels like a discovery of an unexpected sanctuary in the heart of the city.
Born to protect the green treasures of VeniceThe Venice Gardens Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in 2014 to restore and preserve parks, gardens and other sites of cultural interest. The Foundation promotes, develops and carries out projects which are aimed at protecting the city’s naturalistic and cultural heritage and at bringing recognition to the fundamental role it plays within the community and wider society, in fostering harmony between spirit and nature. All the sites restored by the Foundation are then maintained by the Foundation’s own gardeners, by means of specific programmes. As a member of The Association of International Private Committees for the Safeguarding of Venice, and being listed in the National Research Register of the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, the Foundation is also committed to the development of studies about innovation and sustainability of landscape heritage management, together with the organisation of seminars, study days, lectures and courses.
