A weekend of rush weaving
Two days Max 8 people£280 per personHeld in the 14th century tithe barn where Felicity Irons stores the rush that grows near her land, this course introduces participants to the history and traditions of English bulrush and its harvest. Felicity shows off her rush knives and four rush cutting punts and explains some of her techniques including weaving, plaiting, knotting, chain pairing and chair seating. In the morning all participants begin by making a table mat, while after lunch each person can choose what they would like to make. By the end of the weekend hats, bathmats, handbags and chair seats will be completed.
