Making skis by hand in the Alps
1 hour Max 15 people150 chf per groupLucas Bessard is a young artisan who has transformed his passion for skiing into a full-time profession. He works in a studio located in the small village of Cuarnens in the Swiss canton of Vaud. The entire village is part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites. In this experience, Lucas Bessard offers participants an insight into the ethos of his company, Woodspirit. You'll visit the showroom and hear an explanation of the different stages involved in making his bespoke skis, as well as the materials used. Thanks to a 0.9 mm wooden covering, the skis can be decorated on the surface with geometrical designs in marquetry, according to the skier's taste. Each piece is signed 'Hihihi', which is Lucas Bessard’s trademark. A snack is offered at the end of the visit.
