Laura Thomas is a British textile artist who has been teaching the art of weaving for more than 20 years. Her decorative art pieces for both interiors and exteriors celebrate the beauty of the yarn through different techniques and a combination of common and unconventional materials. In her studio in South Wales, Laura organises introductory workshops to table loom weaving for small groups of beginners. Good manual dexterity is the only pre-requisite to join. Participants are taught basic weave structures and hand manipulation techniques as well as encouraged to experiment with a variety of weft yarns in many fibres, textures and colours.
