Guided tour with a master of paper with Pescia Paper Museum

Discover the secrets of handmade paper

2 hours Max 25 peopleFrom 10 euros per person

Dedicated to the ancient art of paper making, Pescia Paper Museum was established in 2004 in the 18th-century paper mill Le Carte. The Magnani family, famous for handmade paper since 1481, used to manufacture their precious, elegant products in this very mill. On Saturdays, a paper master from the modern Enrico Magnani Pescia social enterprise – headquartered in a modern building nearby – will guide you round the amazing collection of the museum. It includes moulds, filigree waxes, punches, metal sheets and stamps for a total of 7,000 pieces. Your guide will also show you the process behind handmade paper making, giving you a practical demonstration of the ancient craft that both the museum and the atelier have been working hard to keep alive.
