Well-travelled and highly educated, the Sheremetevs assembled an impressive art collection and designed the palace interior in various artistic styles that reflected contemporary trends in European art. On this tour your guide will take you through the meticulously restored halls of the palace, which now house the Sheremetevs' collection of around 6,000 objects dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Sophisticated carved furniture, elaborate porcelain and ceramics, antique bronze, glasswork and sculpture, not to mention the portrait gallery, all tell exciting stories about their owners and the history of Russia. The French park around the estate was inspired by Versailles and makes for a wonderful stroll. This tour has been designed specifically for small groups of 1-5 people.
