Faenza is a small town in Emilia Romagna which is known all over the world as the pottery town. It gave its name to a precious kind of majolica – faïence – which, since the 13th century, has influenced the town's cultural and economic development. In this pottery course, held by Antonietta Mazzotti in the 18th century villa Emaldi, you can learn the techniques of faïence. Participants can choose what to focus on, from the basics of shaping, stamping and throwing on the wheel, to glazing techniques, engobing, engraving and decorating, such as Faenza brush techniques and free designs.
