Sample an Armenian wheat weaving ceremony

2-3 hours Max 20 people9,000 AMD per person

The Armenian wheat weaving is a tradition that goes back to a time when the grain was cut by hand. It was believed that the “Spirit of the Harvest” lived within the grain. Each spring, the people would make little objects from the wheat and preserve them throughout the year until next spring. During this workshop, you will be shown how to make trees and dolls from wheat that symbolise life, nature and eternity. You will be given tools and materials and at the end of the workshop, you can take your creation home with you. This workshop is a weaving ceremony combined with Armenian traditional songs and stories. Besides your workshop, you will also have a chance to tour around the museum and taste the freshly baked sweets. The price includes the entrance fee, materials, coffee, and sweets.
