Pushing the boundaries of the possible

1 week Max 4 people1295 euros per person

This course is designed for those who have previous weaving experience, and wish to diversify their designs. Master weaver Stacey Harvey-Brown offers a week-long course on creating optical illusions on a loom. Participants will stay at Stacey’s historic studio La Tuilerie in Gascony, and learn to use shadow, tied and deflected double weaves to create optical illusions with floating cubes and visual perturbations, or “funky eyes” as Stacey calls them. During the week, Stacey will offer classic Gascon meals and will take participants to iconic villages, markets and wine tastings across the county. While not much experience is needed, a good knowledge of making a plain weave, twills and two-shuttle weaving is recommended. Pricing includes accommodation and meals.
