Learn old weaving techniques

From 5 hours Max 2 people80 euros per day

Immersed in the beautiful Sardinian village of Mogoro, visitors can learn the art of weaving on old looms with the craft co-operative Su Trobasciu. They offer tailor made workshops to suit the client, anything from one day (five hours) up to three weeks long. The experience will be made to suit the visitor’s experience and interests, but usually allows the participants to grasp the basic elements of weaving: “It’s easy!” promises the manager Wilda Scanu. Included in the course is the chance to learn old techniques of 'pibiones' and 'a bagas'. The goal is to create a piece, like a small rug, to take home as a souvenir. During the summer, the looms are placed outdoor to take advantage of the amazing Sardinian weather. Courses are to be arranged and booked in advance.
