Explore the world of textile printing

5 days (30 hours) 2-6 people400 euros per person

This course is designed to cover the key processes involved in producing your own artwork on fabric. The course offers flexibility and allows for individual choice. Over five days you will be introduced to a variety of techniques in order to develop your design and print skills. Processes will include: understanding the principles of screen-printing, making your own paper stencils and printing on fabric, mixing printing inks and understanding colour in print, developing a design and translating it onto stencil film. The workshop also explores fabric dyeing to create unique backgrounds for the prints. If you have specific techniques you wish to explore you can contact the studio in advance to discuss your needs. This course is suitable for beginners and no previous experience is required. Courses take place in Nicola’s newly built studio which is an hour from the Atlantic coastline and the stunning Burren landscape in the west of Ireland. The course takes place from 10am to 4pm Wednesday to Sunday. The studio also offers accommodation on site (limited numbers) at an extra cost.
